Abstract

Reliabilities, especially an electrochemical anticorrosive characteristic, of a thin film solar cell module are improved. In the thin film solar cell module, a transparent electrode layer formed on one main surface of a light transmitting glass substrate, an optical semiconductor layer and at least a part of a metal layer are separated into a plurality of cells and electrically integrated with each other. The thin film solar cell module is provided with a peripheral exposing section where glass of the light transmitting glass substrate is exposed. The peripheral exposing section is formed by removing chemically or by an optical beam the transparent electrode layer, the optical semiconductor layer and the metal layer at the peripheral section of the light transmitting glass substrate for 0.5mm or more from the peripheral end section along the main surface periphery. At least on the peripheral exposing section, an insulating coating material is arranged, and a sealing filling material is arranged on the insulating coating material.
