Abstract

 アルコール燃料を用いる固体高分子型燃料電池において、燃料保持部2と電極-電解質膜接合体(MEA)の燃料極8との間の燃料気化層4にアニオン交換性を有する多孔質体を具備させてアルコール液体燃料を気化供給することを特徴とする。燃料気化層4には一定量の二酸化炭素が吸着されて飽和すれば外部に放出されていくので、燃料気化層4を通過して燃料極に気化供給されるアルコール燃料も安定化して出力変動を著しく低減することが可能となる。また、本発明は燃料供給量を必要最低限にする必要のある高濃度燃料使用時に特に効果を発揮する。
