Abstract

 本発明の刃先交換型切削チップは、基材と該基材上に形成された被覆層とを備えるものであって、該被覆層は、最表面層とアルミナ層とを少なくとも含む複数の層からなり、該最表面層は、Tiの炭化物、窒化物および炭窒化物のいずれかを主成分とする層であり、かつ0.05GPa以上2GPa以下の圧縮残留応力が付与されており、該アルミナ層は、該被覆層中の該最表面層の内側に少なくとも1層含まれるAl2O3を主体とする層であり、かつ0.05GPa以上2GPa以下の圧縮残留応力が付与されていることを特徴とする。
