Abstract

　ＳＴＢ（１７）は、ネットワークに接続され、ネットワークを含むネットワーク群を介してＶｏＤサーバ（１２）からコンテンツを受信する。ＳＴＢ（１７）は、コンテンツを伝送するのに必要な帯域を示すビットレートを含むコンテンツの関連情報を、複数のコンテンツに関して一括して取得する関連情報取得部（４１）と、関連情報取得部（４１）が取得した複数の関連情報に基づいて、或るデータから別のデータに切り替わって受信する場合においても、切り替わったデータを伝送するのに十分な帯域である十分帯域を決定する帯域決定部（４２）と、帯域決定部（４２）が決定した十分帯域を設定するように、ネットワークにおけるデータの伝送を管理するＰＬＣ親機（１５）に対し要求を行う帯域通知部（４４）とを備える。
