Abstract

 多原色液晶表示装置において従来よりもなめらかで精細度の高い表示を実現する。  本発明による多原色液晶表示装置は、4つ以上の原色を用いて表示を行う多原色液晶表示装置であって、少なくとも2種類のサブセットを構成する複数の画素を有し、少なくとも2種類のサブセットのうちの第1のサブセットに含まれる画素の少なくとも1つが第2のサブセットに輝度を貸すレンダリング処理を実行し得る。複数の画素のそれぞれは、互いに異なる輝度を呈し得る第1副画素および第2副画素を有し、第2のサブセットは、上記少なくとも1つの画素の第1副画素および第2副画素のうち、高い輝度を呈する方の副画素から輝度を借りる。
