Abstract

A hinge device in which abrasion of both a cam member and the top of a contact member making contact with the cam member is prevented and that can be easily produced. A convex cam member (9) is molded from a resin and at least the top (12) of the cam member is made from a material having higher hardness than the resin. At least the top (15) of the contact member (7) is made from a material having higher hardness than the resin. When a second member is opened and closed relative to a first member, the top (15) of the contact member (7) runs over the top (12) of a cam surface (11a) of the convex cam member (9). Since the tops (12, 15) of the convex cam member (9) and the contact member (7) are made from the materials having higher hardness than the resin, abrasion of the tops (12, 15) when the top (15) of the contact member (7) runs over the top (12) of the cam surface (11a) of the convex cam member (9) is prevented.
