Abstract

An antimicrobial sealing element, such as a gasket for an appliance or storage container, can be made of a polymeric resin shaped to associate with a periphery of a surface opening. The polymeric resin has disposed therein one or more antimicrobial agents, providing long-lasting antimicrobial efficacy without perturbing the physical and aesthetic properties of the sealing element.
