Abstract

A method of concentrating a colloid dispersion liquid through generation of a potential gradient in the colloid dispersion liquid, characterized in that the apparatus for concentrating has a concentrating vessel adapted to immerse a positive electrode and a negative electrode in the colloid dispersion liquid and carry out concentration and has no separating membrane. The method of concentrating a colloid dispersion liquid can attain enrichment at a high concentrating ratio with the use of a compact energy-saving apparatus without the use of any separating membrane.
