Abstract

Provided is a die position adjusting mechanism in a medal die engraving device for electrically detecting information on the position of a rotation axis using a pulse method for detecting the position with an optical sensor, setting information on the number of pulses in accordance with the position of each die, and thereby setting each die to the proper position for a die forming motion. An original medal (78) is temporarily stopped on the upper portion of a guide rail (77). A disc (1) having a slit is rotated with a die fitting roller (75). The number of pulses previously set is counted from the position of an original point. When time previously set is counted, the original medal (78) is dropped between a rolling roller (74) and the die fitting roller (75), and consequently the die formed medal is offered. Time previously set is individually adjusted for each die with volume, the timing of the dropping of the original medal (78) is adjusted, and consequently a die forming position of the die fitting roller (75) can be adjusted.
