Abstract

折畳み式携帯端末において、第１の筐体２に、左右に長い横長の表示パネル４と、この表示パネル４を駆動するドライバ５とを含む表示装置６を内蔵させる。第１の筐体２の左右下端に表示パネル４よりも表面側へ膨出する一対の第１ヒンジ軸受部２ａを形成する。第２の筐体３に操作部８を内蔵し、その上端から第１ヒンジ軸受部２ａの間へ水平に膨出する一対の第２ヒンジ軸受部３ａを形成する。連接する左右の第１ヒンジ軸受部２ａ及び第２ヒンジ軸受部３ａ内に開閉軸をそれぞれ設け、第１の筐体２と第２の筐体３とを折り畳み可能に連結する。これにより、表示パネル４の左右中心Ｙと、第１の筐体２の左右中心とを一致させ、それに伴う第１の筐体２の拡大化をできる限り抑える。
