Description
DESCRIPTION
PROCESS OF EMBEDDING A COLOURED, MULTIPLE- LAYER AND PATTERNED FLOCK IN THE PRODUCTION OF ARTIFICIAL SUEDE, AND THE PRODUCT EMANATING THEREFROM
TECHNICAL FIELD OF INVENTION
Present invention relates to technique of embedding colored flock on plain flocked surface in production of multiple-layer and patterned upholstery fabric (artificial suede) in furniture sector.
STATE OF THE ART As known, great advances are realized in production techniques in furniture sector as found in all sectors. Increase in competitor companies at the market caused increase in awareness of consumers. On this account, the aim turned to produce quality products, meeting visual and individual taste, with low production costs in short period.
With regards the subject of invention, one of the techniques used in furniture sector is the patent titled "Layered and Patterned Flock Embedding Technique" which is protected under patent document No. TR2003/01860B issued at 21/07/2005. In the process described in the said patent, natural (white) flock is used both in plain lower layer flock and patterned upper-layer flock and various colors can be obtained by dying multiple - layer flocked fabric at rope - dying machines after flocking process is completed and the fabric is dyed.
In the process described in patent document No. TR 2003/01860 B, fabric flocked in layers is dyed later. In present invention, such a dying process is not required.
DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
In artificial suede production developed according to the invention, processes included in color, multiple-layer and patterned flock embedding procedure are described below.
■ Surface of fabric, which are manufactured by weaving, knitting or non-woven technologies and dyed or left colorless, is coated with adhesive by plastering method and unpatterned plain color flock is coated on the adhesive, dried and brushed. Thus, colored-flock coated lower layer is obtained.
■ Flocked fabric, coated by colored flock following Step 1, is re-inserted into machine and its' surface is coated by adhesive in a patterned manner by rotational template system and patterned sections are re-coated by colored flock. Consequently, patterned and colored second layer of flock is applied on plain and colored lower layer.
In production process of artificial suede developed according to the invention, multiple-layer and patterned-flocked fabric obtained by multiple-layer and patterned flocking, process is subjected to drumming process for surface finishing and soft touch, if required. In production process of artificial suede developed according to the invention following processes of multiple-layer and patterned flock embedding procedure, re-dying process is not required.
In production process of artificial suede developed according to the invention following processes of multiple-layer and patterned flock sticking procedure, flocks having same or different colors can be used both in lower layer coated by plain flock and in upper layer coated by patterned flock in multiple - layer and patterned flock embedding process. Consequently, when flocking process is completed and multiple - layer, patterned and color-flocked fabric is dried, the product gains ultimate color. After a suitable finishing process, the product is made ready for sale. Thus, both time is saved and production costs are reduced.
AIMS OF INVENTION
In production process of artificial suede developed according to the invention following processes of multiple-layer and patterned flock embedding procedure, followings are aimed with regards the color, multiple - layer and patterned flock embedding process and the product manufactured by this process;
■ Completing process within shorter period in comparison with known techniques
■ Minimizing production costs,
■ Due to using different color of flock in lower and upper layer, providing product diversification and increasing product satisfaction. ■ After flocking process is completed, dying procedure is not required and thus different surface view and touch can be achieved.
Product, according to the invention, can be used as upholstery fabric in furniture sector or to coat walls or similar fields and additionally to coat agenda books, books and giftwares.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
Production process of artificial suede developed according to the invention following processes of multiple-layer and patterned flock embedding procedure is consisted of following steps.
■ Surface of fabric (1), which are manufactured by weaving, knitting or non- woven technologies and dyed or left colorless, is coated with adhesive by plastering method and unpatterned plain color flock is coated on the adhesive, dried and brushed and thus, fabric (6) coated by plain and colored flock is obtained,
■ Fabric (6) made of plain and colored flock is re-inserted into machine and this time its' surface is coated with adhesive via rotational template (3) system and patterned sections are re-coated with colored flock (as second layer),
■ Resultant multiple-layer, patterned and color-flocked fabric (7) is subjected to drumming (10) process for surface finishing and soft touch.
In artificial suede production developed according to the invention, first step of multiple-layer and patterned flock sticking process is step of obtaining fabric coated by plain but color flock according to the technical field. In artificial suede production developed according to the invention, second step of multiple-layer and patterned flock sticking process is fabric (6), coated by plain and color flock obtained following first step, is transferred to rotational patterned template (3) by passing J-box unit. Rotational patterned template (3) transfer adhesive with desired pattern on fabric (6) coated by plain and color flock. In this step, desired amount of adhesive within patterned template (3) is transferred from template on fabric (6). Plain-color flocked fabric (6), of which surface is coated by patterned adhesive, passes through flocking unit (4). In this unit (4), flock fibers loaded on containers enter into electrostatic field as flock fibers are poured downward by sieves and brushes. In this process, flock, which has similar or different color with regards the color of flock on surface, is used.
Fabric, exiting flocking unit (4) is dried in drying owen (5) and fabric (7) is obtained which has plain-color flocked lower layer and patterned-and color-flocked upper layer.
Surface-patterned, color and multipl-layer flocked fabric (7) is first subjected to bath (8) procedure for drumming process. Siliconated or unsiliconated bath (8) procedure is applied according to the method used. Later, excess fluid is removed by passing fabric through compression cylinders (9). Finally, it enters into drumming machines (10) for fabric finishing and soft touch. Consequently, drummed, patterned, clor, multiple layer flocked fabric (11) is obtained. By finishing process conducted by different chemicals, the chemical is provided hidrofobic and spot-free features.
As described in figures and processes related with figure, most significant difference of this invention from similar or known techniques and innovative aspect of the invention is use of flocks with same or different color in each flock layer and lack of requirement for dying following the completion of processes.
In this invention, a new and easy-to-apply product is brought forth by both applying dying procedure during flock production step (using color flock) and by combining two different color on flocked fabric.
