Description
DESCRIPTION
PRODUCTION PROCESS OF UPHOLSTERY FABRIC COATED WITH
PATTERNED FLOCK
TECHNICAL FIELD
Present invention relates to the process of upholstery fabric coated by patterned flock in furniture sector. It is obtained by painting and printing jacquard, armured or similar woven or knitted fabric and then by sticking flock dust through flocking method after transfering adhesive on the surface of fabric by rotational pattern technique. Product, developed according to the invention, is used in upholstery fabric and in accessories of furniture sector (ie., piloow, cushion).
STATE OF THE ART
As known, patterned flocking on different fabrics (fabrics used in outwear sector) is widely used particularly in outwear fabric sector. According to the known technique, these applications are not valid for upholstery fabric in furniture sector. Product manufactured according to the process developed by the invention is designed to be used completely as upholstery stuff and in furniture sector. With regards the process developed according to the invention, features of end-product is such that it completely meets requirements of upholstery fabric and the said features are carried to the mentioned level. AIMS OF INVENTION
Various fabrics are produced by known techniques and used in furniture sector. These are as follows in order; jacquard woven fabrics, chenille fabrics produced by armured weaving technique, fabrics woven by cotton or synthetic yarns, satin fabrics and flocked fabrics (Patent No. TR 2003 01860 B). As a result, these fabrics are upholstery stuff obtained by using various techniques such as weaving, knitting and others. Difference of process developed according to the invention and end-product from previous technique is ability to apply in furniture sector and to apply flock with similar or different color in a patterned manner on jacquard woven fabrics, chenille fabrics produced by armured weaving technique, fabrics woven by cotton or synthetic yarns, satin fabrics. By this application, different and 3 -dimensional upholstery fabric is aimed to be used in furniture sector.
By production process of upholstery fabric coated by patterned flock, which is developed by courtesy of the invention, following features could be obtained as a result of applying color and patterned flock on fabric obtained by various weaving and knitting techniques; • Patterned fabric
• Flocked fabric
• Soft-touch
• Mono- or dual-color appearance
• A new and different appearance formed together by effect of weave of fabric (jacquard, armured or knitted) and the effect provided by flock.
• Addition of velvet touch of a fabric provided by flock to touch of a fabric woven by weaving and knitting techniques.
• Brigth flock applicaiton on mat ground used in background and thus obtaining a combination of bright and mat view.

DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION
Production process of upholstery fabric coated by flock which is developed according to this invention, is conssited of following steps. • Transfering adhesive (binder) using rotation template technique (3) suitable to pattern in order to transfer pattern to be flocked on color or printed fabric woven or knitted by different techniques.
• Flocking (4) process of fabric, on which patterned adhesive is transferred, by using color flock in a patterned manner, • Drumming (9) process of surface finish and soft touch of patterned and color- flocked fabric (6).
Fabric (1), which is woven or knitted by different techniques and painted or colored by printing, is transferred to rotational patterned template (3) by passing through sewing machine J-Box (fabric accumulation unit). Rotational patterned template (3) transfers adhesive with desired pattern on fabric (1). At this point, adhesive included in patterned template is transferred wet in desired amount from template (3) to surface of fabric (1) with courtesy of scrapper.
Fabric (I)5 of which surface is transferred patterned adhesive by patterned rotational template (3), is transferred to flocking unit (4). Within this unit (4), color flock fibers enter into electrostatic field as color flock fibers, which are cut into particular length (0.3 - 5.0 mm) and denier (0.9 - 9.0 dtex) and loaded on containers, are poured downward by sieves and brushes. During this period, they are sticked into patterned adhesives on the surface of fabric coming continously from rotation machine by electric power and thus flocking process is completed. Meanwhile, flock, sticked to fields including patterned adhesives by electrostatic method, is dried within drying owen (5). Finally, they pass through brushing unit and the fabric (6) coated by pattern flock is obtained as end-product. Fabric (6) coated by patterned flock by passing through rotation and flocking units is passed through drumming machine (9) for finish and softening and thus flock-printed appearance and dye- or print-colored fabric is obtained.
During drum (9) process, flocked fabric (6), which exit the flocking machine (4), is primarily passed through bath (7). According to the method, siliconated or unsiliconated bath procedure is applied. Later, fabric is passed fabric passed through compressing unit
(8) and excess fluid is removed. Finally they enter drum machines for surface finish and a soft touch.
