Abstract

　照明装置１は、複数の点状光源１０と、点状光源１０からの光入射面２２から入射し光出射面２４から出射する導光板２０とを備える。導光板２０は、光出射面２４に２つの短辺と２つの長辺とを有する略矩形状の有効領域と、有効領域の外側で導光板端面との間の非有効領域とを備える。点状光源１０は、非有効領域の直下で長辺に沿って間隔をあけて配列される。光入射面２２には、各点状光源１０の直上の位置に点状光源から入射した全光のうち５０％を超える光の方向を導光板２０の厚み方向に略垂直で、かつ有効領域側に向かう方向へ変換する凹部４０が形成される。凹部４０で変換された光の半値放射角は、点状光源１０から出射し導光板２０に入射する前の光の半値放射角より大きい。
