Abstract
[PROBLEMS] An electrostriction actuator that has a simple and inexpensive structure and from which a large amount of displacement or drive force can be efficiently taken out. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] In an initial state, an elastic deformation member (20) is previously deformed by applying tensile force (T) to an extension/contraction member (10). When the tensile force (T) is removed from the initial state, the elastic deformation member (20) returns to the original state and, at this time, a projection (22) is caused to project. A large amount of displacement or drive force can be taken out by previously setting the elastic deformation member (20) to a state where it is deformed (state where energy is accumulated).
