Abstract

Es wird ein Verfahren zum Abkühlen oder Verflüssigen eines Kohlenwasserstoffreichen Stromes, beispielsweise eines Erdgasstromes, beschrieben, bei dem die Abkühlung oder Verflüssigung des Kohlenwasserstoff-reichen Stromes gegen wenigstens einen Kältemittelkreislauf, gegen wenigstens einen Kältemittelgemischkreislauf oder gegen eine beliebige Kombination aus wenigstens einem Kältemittelkreislauf und wenigstens einem Kältemittelgemischkreislauf erfolgt. Erfindungsgemäß liegen das oder wenigstens eines der Kältemittel und/oder Kältemittelgemische, das bzw. die einer Verdichtung unterworfen werden, innerhalb des Kältemittelkreislaufes und/oder Kältemittelgemischkreislaufes zumindest teilweise kondensiert vor und weisen bei allen Verfahrenszuständen, insbesondere an der oder den Verdichtersaugseiten eine molare Dichte von wenigstens 0,30 kmol/m3, vorzugsweise von wenigstens 0,35 kmol/m3, auf.
