Abstract

An application head cleaning method for cleaning application liquid adhering to a discharge opening surface near a discharge opening of an application head. In the method, one or more times of pressing operations in each of which an adhesive tape is made to be in substantially vertical contact with the discharge opening surface near the discharge opening and then substantially vertically peeled off are performed, a minute-amount discharge operation in which a minute amount of the application liquid is discharged from the discharge opening is performed, and then one or more times of pressing operations in each of which an adhesive tape is made to be in substantially vertical contact with the discharge opening surface near the discharge opening and then substantially vertically peeled off are performed. Paste adhering to the discharge opening of the application head and the discharge opening surface can be efficiently removed by using the adhesive tape material without damaging the application head.
