Abstract

A backrest (6) includes a back frame (13) opening in front and back, and a netlike member (17) stretched across the back frame. The right and left ends of the lumber support portion (17a) of the netlike member (17) are supported by a spacer (22) from the back. The spacer (22) is incorporated in a cavity (53) formed in a side member (14) and held at the upper end of a rear link (21) such that the height can be adjusted. At the time of rocking, upper end of the rear link (21) retreats relatively to the backrest (6) and thereby the spacer (22) retreats to loosen the netlike material (17) at the position of the lumber support portion. Consequently, push-up feeling of waist is eliminated in a rocking state.
