Abstract
【課題】本体形状の大型化を抑制しながらプロジェクタの機能を追加できる映像表示装置および携帯端末装置を提供する。 【解決手段】レーザ光源101と、レーザ光を拡散する第1の状態とレーザ光を透過させる第2の状態に切り替え可能な高分子分散型液晶素子105と、高分子分散型液晶素子105を経由したレーザ光を変調する液晶パネル106とを備える。高分子分散型液晶素子105が第1の状態にあるとき各画素位置の光量を変化させることにより画像を生成する映像パターンを液晶パネル106に描画させ、高分子分散型液晶素子105が第2の状態にあるとき回折により画像を生成するホログラムパターンを液晶パネル106に描画させる。
