Abstract

This invention provides a jig developed for a Marangoni convection experiment purposes in a gravitation-free space station, which can realizes an ultra-water-repellent, oil-repellent and anti-fouling surface having a contact angle of a silicone oil droplet on the surface of not less than about 110 degrees. More specifically, this invention provides a member having an ultra-water-repellent, oil-repellent and anti-fouling surface characterized in that the surface has large concavoconvexes and small concavoconvexes formed by composite fabrication and the surface is covered with a water repellent, oil repellent and anti-fouling thin film. The member is produced by a process comprising at least the step of subjecting the surface of the member to blasting or dimpling, the step of subjecting the blasted or dimpled member to chemical etching or electrolytic etching, and the step of forming a water repellent, oil repellent and anti-fouling thin film on the surface of the member.
