Abstract
Beim Zerspanen von hochfesten, zähen Eisen-Metallen wie ADI (Austempered Ductile Iron) oder Stahl spielt aufgrund der hohen Temperaturen an der Schneidenecke der chemische Verschleiß eine große Rolle. Siliziumnitrid oder SiAlONe sind bei diesen Anwendungen thermodynamisch nicht ausreichend stabil. Schneidstoffe auf Aluminiumoxid-Basis sind aufgrund ihrer niedrigen Thermoschock-Beständigkeit und niedrigen Zähigkeit nur begrenzt einsetzbar. Erfindungsgemäß wird deshalb ein keramischer Hartstoff vorgeschlagen, der aus einer Pulvermischung von Si3N4, Al2O3, AlN und aus Oxiden von mindestens einem der Elemente Mg, Ca, Y, Lu, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb hergestellt wird.
