Abstract

 光ディスク装置は、光ヘッド(100)と、複屈折部材(113)と、制御装置(116)とを有する。光ヘッドは、光源から出射した光を保護層を有する光ディスク(107)に照射し、光ディスクからの反射光を光検出器(109)により検出する。複屈折補正部材は、光ディスクへの入射光、及び、光ディスクからの反射光に対し、所定方向の偏光成分と所定方向と直交する方向の偏光成分との間に位相差を与える。制御装置は、保護層の複屈折が入射光及び反射光に与える影響を補正する第1の位相差を光ディスクの回転数情報に基づいて決定し、複屈折補正部材が第1の位相差を与えるように制御する。
