Abstract

【課題】低温活性に優れる酸化触媒組成物、及び内燃機関のパティキュレートなどを比較的低温から酸化ないし燃焼し得るPM酸化触媒を提供すること。 【解決手段】酸化触媒組成物は、セリウムと、マンガンと、金属M(Mはセリウムを除く3価の金属元素)を含有する。XPS測定における軌道エネルギーをガウス関数によるピーク分離したときに、Ce4+/Ce3+の原子量比(atom%比)が1.7以上で、且つMn2+が5atom%以上であり、少なくとも一部が複合化している。  上記金属Mは、イッテルビウム、ツリウム、エルビウム、ホルミウム、ジスプロシウム、ガドリニウム、ユウロピウム、サマリウム、プロメチウム、ネオジム、プラセオジム、スカンジウム、イットリウム、アルミニウム及びガリウムなどである。
