Valve (1) for limiting the pressure of a gas, more particularly adapted to the use of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) in air-conditioning systems of motor vehicles, and of the type constituted by a hollow body ( 3), having an open bottom gas outlet (SG), against which rests an elastic member (5) calibrated according to the pressure to be regulated, and in connection with its other end with a closure element (7) with a spherical bearing forming a valve, intended to cooperate in closure with a corresponding seat (8) of a calibrated gas inlet nozzle (9) (EG), characterized in that the closure element (7) is constituted by a spherical cap, surmounting a guide piston (6) with which it is connected and made of an elastically deformable material, based on polyimide, self-adapting tightly on the seat (8) gas inlet (EG) and able to withstand the high pressure and temperature related to the use of CO 2 .
