Abstract

The invention relates to novel aryl derivatives which have excellent blood sugar lowering effect and are effective in treating diseases of glycometabolism and lipid metabolism, or diseases in which peroxisome proliferator activated receptor (PPAR) Ϝ participates and/or in preventing the onset of these diseases; or pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof. Aryl derivatives represented by the general formula (I) or pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof: [Chemical formula 1] E - A - Y (I) (II) (III) (IV) wherein E is a group represented by the general formula: -CH2NHCOR1, a group represented by the general formula: -CH(CH3)NHCOR1 (wherein R1 is C6-10 aryl which may be substituted with one to five groups independently selected from substituent group (a), or the like), or the like; A is a group represented by the general formula (II), a group represented by the general formula (III), or a group represented by the general formula (IV) (wherein R2 is hydrogen, halogeno, or the like; R3 is hydrogen, halogeno, or the like; R4 is C1-6 alkyl; V is =CH- or the like; Z is =CH- or the like; Q is =CH- or the like; CE and CY are each a single bond; CE is attached to a group represented by symbol “E”; and CY is attached to a group represented by symbol “Y”); and Y is a group represented by the general formula: -NHSO2R5, a group represented by the general formula: -CH2OR5 (wherein R5 is C1-6 alkyl, C6-10 aryl which may be substituted with one to five groups independently selected from substituent group (a), or the like), or the like, with substituent group (a) consisting of halogeno, C1-6 alkyl, C1-6 hydroxyalkyl, and so on.
