Abstract

 リセット期間の発光を抑制しつつ、誤放電を防止することを課題とする。プラズマディスプレイ装置は、プラズマディスプレイパネルと、プラズマディスプレイパネルを駆動する駆動部とを有している。プラズマディスプレイパネルは、前面基板部に、維持、走査およびアドレスの3電極を有している。1画面を表示するための1フィールドは、複数のサブフィールドで構成され、複数のサブフィールドのうちの少なくとも1つのサブフィールドは、リセット期間を有している。さらに、リセット期間は、時間の経過に伴って電圧値が増大する波形電圧を走査電極に印加する蓄積期間を有している。例えば、駆動部は、蓄積期間に、維持電極に第1電圧を、走査電極に第1電圧より高い波形電圧を、アドレス電極に第1電圧より低い電圧をそれぞれ印加する。
