Abstract

An optical disk drive comprises a multilayer optical disk (1) having a first-layer and a second-layer recording surface, an optical pickup unit (3), a control circuit (4) for generating focus servo loop signals by performing gain adjustments on the recording surfaces on the basis of generated FE signals to maintain a state in which focus is adjusted, calculating sensitivity information of a focus actuator built into the optical pickup unit from gain adjustment information, and generating a focus jump signal according to a driving voltage value set on the basis of the sensitivity information, and a focus actuator driving circuit (5) for driving the optical pickup unit on the basis of the focus jump signal and the focus loop signals.
