Abstract

本発明は、分光分析機器、製造管理、照明などに用いられる白色光源において、高い出力安定性、高い集光性、高い輝度を備えた白色光を提供するものであり、AlF3を20~45モル%、アルカリ土類フッ化物としてMgF2を0~15モル%、CaF2を7~25モル%、SrF2を0~15モル%、及びBaF2を5~25モル%の範囲で且つアルカリ土類フッ化物を合計で40~65モル%含有し、さらに、Y、La、Gd、Yb、及びLuから選ばれる一種以上の元素のフッ化物を10~25モル%含有するハロゲン化物ガラスに、発光中心となる2価希土類イオンとしてイッテルビウムイオンを含有する白色光発光材料を増幅用媒体として用いる。
