Abstract

温度変化あるいは経時変化が生じる場合であっても安定した発光色を示す有機EL素子の駆動装置及び駆動方法を提供する。定電流を所定のデューティー比で供給する有機EL素子1の駆動装置である。駆動時間あるいは周囲温度の少なくともいずれかを検出する状態検出手段2と、状態検出手段2の検出結果に基づいて有機EL素子1の発光色を維持するべく前記定電流の設定値を変更し、前記設定値に応じて有機EL素子1の発光輝度を維持するべく電流供給のデューティー比を変更する制御手段3と、を備えてなる。駆動時間あるいは周囲温度の少なくともいずれかと前記設定値との関係を示す電流調整データを記憶する記憶部4を有する。制御手段3は、状態検出手段2の検出結果に基づいて前記電流調整データから前記設定値を読み出す。
