Abstract

In a manganese dry cell, the cell can consists of anode zinc can (3). The anode zinc can (3) consists of one containing 0.05 to 0.6 wt.% of lead, or one obtained by forming a zinc plate into a bottomed cylinder at 110° to 130°C according to a hot impact forming technique, and the zinc contained in the anode zinc can (3) has a crystal grain diameter of 30 μm or less. Accordingly, in the anode zinc can (3), any leakage of electrolyte by perforation can be prevented, thereby attaining production of a manganese dry cell excelling in corrosion resistance.
