Abstract
Le procédé selon l'invention permettant de déterminer une caractéristique physiologique associée à la fonction cardiaque chez un sujet comprend les étapes consistant à : fournir au moins une mesure d'absorption du rayonnement magnétique, fournir des informations démographiques qui reflètent la condition physique du sujet, déterminer une valeur temporelle de pléthysmographie à partir de la mesure d'absorption du rayonnement magnétique, et déterminer au moins une caractéristique physiologique à partir de la valeur temporelle de pléthysmographie et des informations démographiques en utilisant un modèle phénoménologique prédéterminé qui est adapté pour donner une estimation d'une relation volume sanguin/temps à proximité du cœur et calculer une caractéristique physiologique associée à la fonction cardiaque sur la base de la relation volume sanguin/temps estimée.
