Abstract

[PROBLEMS] To provide a high-purity aluminum nitride sinter by a process for aluminum nitride sinter production in which oxides contained in a raw powder are efficiently removed and any oxide contained in the raw powder is prevented from reacting with a sintering aid to yield a composite oxide remaining in the aluminum nitride sinter. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The aluminum nitride sinter has a concentration of residual oxygen excluding adherent oxygen of 350 ppm or lower.
