Abstract
Disclosed is an ultraviolet ray irradiation apparatus which generates and efficiently irradiates a UVB for curing an ultraviolet-curable varnish. Specifically disclosed is an ultraviolet ray irradiation apparatus for ultraviolet-curable varnishes, which comprises a discharge tube for irradiating and curing an ultraviolet-curable varnish, which contains a sensitizer and a polymerization initiator, with an ultraviolet ray. More specifically, an ultraviolet ray irradiation apparatus (10) comprises a low-pressure discharge tube (12) for generating an ultraviolet ray within the UVB wavelength range (the wavelength range of 280-315 nm) and irradiating an ultraviolet-curable varnish with the ultraviolet ray for curing. The inner surface of the low-pressure discharge tube (12) is coated with cerium, and the low-pressure discharge tube (12) is arranged close to the ultraviolet-curable varnish.
