Abstract
An exhaust gas purifying apparatus for internal combustion engine that realizes acceleration of NOx occlusion reaction. The rate of ozone supplied is regulated so that the molar ratio of ozone to nitrogen monoxide (NO) contained in a mixed gas flowing in NOx occlusion reduction catalyst is greater than 1.
