Abstract

[PROBLEMS] To solve problems of a system operation based on an inaccurate judgment in diagnosis of a sensor failure or disconnection and troubles including a malfunction when an object to be checked is at a shifted position. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A sensor child station system uses a reflector arranged in a state capable of detecting a predetermined one of sensor child stations for detecting presence/absence of an object to be checked in a control sensor system which transfers a monitor signal and a control signal. Moreover, the predetermined sensor child station makes a sensor signal which has redetected the reflector to be a first signal and a reflection signal which has detected and is reflected from the object to be checked and which has a different level from the first signal to be a second signal. The sensor child stations judge whether a signal is the first signal or the second signal according to the signal intensity level. If the second signal is detected, it is detected whether an object to be checked is present. If the first signal is not detected, it is judged that a sensor system failure has occurred.
