Abstract

This invention provides a substrate body structure for PDP that can prolong the service life of PDP. The substrate body structure for PDP comprises a substrate and a display electrode (13), a dielectric layer (15) for covering the display electrode, an intermediate layer (17) for covering the dielectric layer, and a protective layer (19) for covering the intermediate layer stacked in that order on the substrate. The substrate body structure is characterized in that the intermediate layer has a band gap of not more than 6.2 eV and, at the same time, has a hydrogen concentration of not more than 2.5 × 1021 atoms/cc, or the product of the band gap and the hydrogen concentration is mot more than 1.5 × 1022 eV·atoms/cc
