Abstract

The present invention relates to a food prehensile tong (1) having two food gripping arms (2), being parallel or substantially parallel to each other at a resting position, linked together by a joined rounded part (4). The tongs are formed in one piece of a soft material, the two gripping arms (2) having an identical shape, the joined part (4) being sufficiently rigid to bring the parallel arms back to their resting position when the user releases his grip between the thumb and forefinger on the said arms for food prehension. The gripping arms are substantially oval in shape and convex on the outside and are terminated at the prehensile side by a smooth, rounded, rigid jaw (5) slightly curled toward the inside, the said jaw having a width Lb greater or equal to 15 mm directly in proximity of the said prehensile side, and having thin and rigid lateral edges.
