If the value of currently available bandwidth is equal to or greater than the reference bandwidth value, that is, in the state in which excess capacity of the COD server 10 is expected, content requested by the respective COD clients 20 (20a, 20b, 20c, and 2Od) may be classified as content for one-to-N transmission.

If the number of requesters for the corresponding content is equal to or greater than the preset reference number of requesters, that is, the number of real-time content requesters is greater than the preset reference number of requesters, the corresponding content may be classified as content for one-to-N transmission.

Furthermore, if the accumulated value of the counted number of COD clients 20 (20a, 20b, 20c, and 2Od) is equal to or greater than the reference value, it is determined that the one-to-N transmission requirement is met. Further, if the time taken for the connection of a session is equal to or greater than the reference time, it is regarded that the one-to-N transmission requirement is met even though the accumulated value is less than the reference value.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé d'exploitation efficace d'un système de contenus sur demande (COD). Des demandes de contenus sont reçues de clients (COD). Si le contenu demandé existe dans un serveur COD et que le contenu est le contenu d'une transmission un à un, une session est établie entre le serveur COD et l'un des clients COD en fournissant des informations d'accès pour une transmission un à un. Ensuite, le contenu demandé est transmis au client COD correspondant selon une transmission un à un, et la session est terminée lorsque la transmission a été accomplie. Si le contenu demandé est un contenu d'une transmission un à N, des sessions sont établies entre le serveur COD et les clients COS respectifs en fournissant des informations d'accès pour une transmission un à N. Puis, le contenu demandé est transmis aux clients COD correspondants selon une transmission un à N lorsqu'un besoin de transmission un à N a été satisfait, et les sessions sont terminées lorsque la transmission a été accomplie.
