Abstract

The present invention relates to a mounting frame (1), which is intended to be a fastened to but readily removable to an intermediate arrangement (A), which wiii enable a crane arrangement (2) to be mounted on a foundation (3), wherewith the foundation (3) includes a plurality, such as four, fastener units (4), which can be fastened to the arrangement and which are intended to be fastened, but readily removable, for co-action with frame-related fastener units (5) each being positioned opposite to the end portions (6a, 6b, 7a, 7b) of each respective one of two beam constructions (6, 7), The crane arrangement (2) includes an adapted support plate (8), which is affixed to a respective one of said beam constructions (6, 7) and in that the support plate (8) includes a plurality of first fastening means (9), intended for fixed but readily released co-action with second fastening means (10), assigned to the crane arrangement.

Description

TITLE QF THE INVENTION: A MOUNTING FRASVSE
iCAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates generally to a so-called mounting frame, and more particularly, but not exclusively to a mounting frame which can be used as an intermediate orientated arrangement to readily fit and remove a remotely controllable crane arrangement or crane arm arrangement, connected to a foundation, such as a foundation in the form of a vehicle.
To this end the foundation includes, in the illustrated embodiment, four fastener units or means, which can be affixed to the mounting frame or to the crane arrangement or to the crane-arm arrangement, these fastener units or means being orientated so that when fitted, although readily removable, are able to co-act with the attachments of the mounting frame, wherewith each of these attachments shai! be orientated towards mutually opposed end portions of each of two or more beam constructions used.
The inventive mounting frame was primarily intended to function as a mounting frame for a special lorry, designated by the Trade Name "Compactor", which enables a crane arrangement or crane-arm arrangement to be placed in a relatively high or elevated position, in which it can be remotely controlled, for instance by means intended to this end with the aid of wire-bounded or wireless signal transmission, so as to be able to control one or more of the functions located to the crane arrangement or to the crane-arm arrangement.
The special properties or criteria of the present invention lie in the general configuration of the mounting frame, which enables the frame to be adapted to other areas of use, such as smai! crane arrangements or crane-arm arrangements mounted onto other foundations, such as on smaller vehicles, implement frames, and/or buckets.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVEMTION
Methods, arrangements and constructions related to the above technical field and that have a function and a nature, which fulfils given requirements are known to the art in a number of different forms.
By way of example of the background of the technique and the technical field to which the invention relates can be mentioned a mounting frame, which provides an intermediate arrangement to which a crane arrangement or a crane arm arrangement can be readily fitted and readily removed from a foundation, which includes a number, such as four, fastener units or means, which can be fastened to the arrangement and which are intended for fixed, but readily releasable, co-action with frame-related attachments, each being orientated towards mutually opposite end portions of each of two or more parallel-related beam constructions used.
The use of different types of mounting frames is not restricted to this particular technical field but is also known in adjacent technical fields with the use of different types of mounting frames, which are adapted towards and to its allotted foundation and to the use of arrangement fastening components, such as units or means. Similar arrangements are disciosed in the foiiowing patent publications; US-A-3 918 592, JP-A-2003 341 983 and US-A-4 700 851.
Thus the patent publication US-A-3 918 592 discloses a mounting frame, adapted to rest towards a lorry.
More specially this publication illustrates a flat compact supporting base for a building material handling crane attached to the bed of a pick-up truck or the like with only four bolts and is readily removable from the truck.
A crane boom in piural sections is connected to the bed centrally and is held in a used position by a pair of guy cables and an opposing chain with tightening means.
A power hoist is mountable on the base and has a hoisting cable which is reeved over a sheave on the outermost boom section.
Publication JP-A-2003 341 983 discloses an arrangement for execute loading and unloading work in a short time and efficiently by installing a simplified crane onto a small vehicle, suck as a truck and a tractor.
Sn this respect the vehicle comprises a simplified crane (A), comprising a pillar (1) rotatabie in a pillar circumference direction, a boom (2) with a hook (6) installed on the pillar (1) to be capable of swinging, and a flange part (7), formed at the lower end of the pillar (1), a base (B) having a receiving part (10) where the flange part (7) is placed, and a cavity part (S) on the lower surface side of the receiving part (10) for the flange part and a vehicle (D) onto which the simplified crane (A) is installed.
The base (B) is installed on a proper position of the vehicle (D).
The flange part (7) of the simplified crane (A) is fixed to the receiving part (10) on the base (B) through a fixing device (20). Patent publication US-A-4 700 851 discloses a lightweight, self powered, transportable crane assembly, which includes a frame that can be selectively coupled to and uncoupled from the bed of a transport vehicle or carrier, such as a pick-up truck or trailer.
The frame assembly a!so includes stabilizing legs which can be extended laterally from the frame assembly to stabilize the crane during use and further to aliow the crane assembly to be self supporting apart from the truck or trailer.
The crane assembly also can be coupled to a ballast structure such as a water tank or the like to permit its use apart from the transport vehicle.
SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT Technical problems
When considering the technical deliberations that a person skilled in this particular technical field must make in order to provide a solution to one or more technical problems and to realize initially those measures and/or sequence of measures that must be undertaken in selecting necessarily the means which is required or are required in response hereto so that the following technical problems will be relevant in the production of the objects related to the present invention.
When considering the earlier standpoints of technique as described above it will be seen that a technical problem resides in realizing the significance of, the advantages associated with and/or the technical measures and deliberations that will be required in respect of a roof related mounting frame for a vehicle, for a removably mounting a crane arrangement or a crane arm arrangement to a foundation or support, which includes a plurality, such as four, fastening units or means, which can be attached to the arrangement and which are positioned for fixed, but readily reieasabie, co-action with frame-related fasteners, where each of which is orientated towards opposite end portions of each of two beam constructions, such as to create conditions in which a produced mounting frame is not only adapted directly for one and the same application but can be adapted for use in a number of different foundations and/or crane arrangements or crane arm arrangements. Another technicai problem resides in the ability to realize the significance of, the benefits afforded by and/or the technicai measures and deliberations that will be required in allowing a support plate, intended for the crane arrangement or the crane-arm arrangement, to be firmly joined to each of said beam constructions, with a support plate, including a pluraiity of first fastener means, intended for fixed, but readily rele- asabie, co-action with second fastening means of the crane arrangement or the crane arm arrangement.
Another technical problem resides in the ability to realize the significance of, the advantages associated with and/or the technical measures and deliberations that will be required in allowing said support plate to be sidewise displaced relative to the longitudinal extension of the beam construction.
Another technical problem resides in the ability to realize the significance of, the advantages associated with and/or the technical measures and deliberations that will be required in allowing the support plate to be edge-supported, by one or two stiffening elements, disposed transversely of the beam construction.
Another technical problem resides in the ability to realize the significance of, the benefits associated with and/or the technical measures and deliberations that will be required in allowing said stiffening elements to be attached to opposing wall portions of respective beam construction and to opposing edges of said support plate.
Another technical problem resides in the ability to realize the significance of, the advantages associated with and/or the technicai measures and deliberations that will be required in allowing a sunken or descended stiffening arrangement to be positioned adjacent the support plate and between one edge of the support plate and frame-related fasteners and to be fastened to beam constructions intended for supporting a co-ordinated valve arrangement in the provision of each and/or co-ordination of alternative functions related to the crane arm arrangement, such as hydraulicaϋy act- uabie functions.
Another technical problem resides in realizing the significance of, the advantages associated with and/or the technical measures and deliberations that will be required in providing adjacent the support plate and between an (second) edge of the support piate and the central part of the beam construction a sunken stiffening arrangement affixed to the beam construction and intended for supporting a co-ordinated manoeuvring unit or control unit for carrying out each, alternative coordinated, function related to the crane arrangement or to the crane arm arrangement.
A technical problem also resides in the ability to realize the significance of, the advantages afforded by and/or the technical measures and deliberations that will be required in order to allow one of the two beam constructions or each of said two beam constructions to have a reduced height dimension, between its allotted frame-related fasteners.
Another technical problem resides in realizing the significance of, the advantages associated with and/or the technical measures and deliberations that will be required in order to allow each of the frame-related fasteners to have a four-sided profile or a rectangular box-like profile, that includes one or more centrally positioned support elements.
A technical problem also resides in the ability to realize the significance of, the advantages associated with and/or the technical measures and deliberations that will be required in allowing fasteners, e.g. in the form of two side-related bolt joints, to be positioned on a respective side of the support element.
SOLUTION
The present invention takes as its starting point the above indicated known technique related to a mounting frame, which as an intermediate arrangement is to be firmly fitted to, however readily removable from a foundation for a removable crane arrangement or a crane-arm arrangement, wherewith the foundation includes a number, such as four, fastener units, which are positioned for a firm co-action with related fasteners on the mounting frame and which can be released or removed there from, wherewith the opposite end parts for each of its, at least two mutually parallel, beam constructions. With the intention of solving one or more of the technical problems listed above it is particularly proposed, in accordance with the invention, that the known technology shali be supplemented with a roof related support plate, which is adapted for the crane arrangement or for the crane arm of said arrangement and which is capable of being firmly connected to each of its beam constructions; and in that the support plate shall include a plurality of first fastening elements intended to provide a fixed, but re- adϋy releasable, co-action with second fastening means, allotted to the crane arrangement or to the crane arm arrangement.
The present invention also includes proposed embodiments, which include lateral si- dewise displacement of the support plate relative to the longitudinal extension of the beam construction.
In addition, it is proposed that the support plate shall be supported in relation to its edges by one or two stiffening elements positioned transversely of the beam construction.
St is also proposed that these stiffening elements shall be fastened to mutually opposite wall portions with respect to its beam construction and to opposing edges of said support plate.
It is particularly proposed that adjacent the support plate and between one edge of the support plate and the fastener, related to the mounting frame, is a sunken stiffening element, which is fixed to the beam constructions and intended to support a coordinated valve arrangement for carrying out each of the related functions of the crane arrangement or relating to the crane arm arrangement, and also with other edges of the support plate adjacent thereto and the central part of a further sunken stiffening element, attached to the beam construction, is intended for the support of a coordinated manoeuvring unit or control unit for carrying out each of the functions relating to the crane arrangement or to the crane-arm arrangement and/or a co-ordination of said functions. it is also proposed, in accordance with the present invention, that one or both of the two beam constructions has a reduced height dimension between its fasteners related to the mounting frame.
The fasteners, related to the mounting frame, may each have a cross-section in the form of a four-sided and/or a rectangular box-like profile, which includes a centrally piaced support element, where fastening means, in the form of two side-related bolt joints, are positioned on a respective side of said support element.
ADVANTAGES
Those advantages that can be considered characteristic of the present invention and therewith of particular significance reside in the provision of conditions which enable a crane arrangement or a crane arm arrangement to be mounted firmly on, but rea- dϋy removable from, a vehicle roof related foundation or support element, which includes a plurality of arrangement fastening units, such as four such units, adapted for fixed but readily reieasabSe co-action with fastener elements relating to the mounting frame, wherewith mutually opposing end parts of each of two beam constructions allow the mounting frame to be allotted one such construction and provides such fastener units and fastener means that can be used in differently designed foundations and/or differently designed crane arrangements.
The mounting frame is flexuraϋy rigid, such as to enable the crane arrangement to be supported under each loading occasion, although within the scope of set mechanical strength requirements of such mounting frames and/or on such a crane arrangement or on such a crane-arm arrangement.
The primary characteristics of the present invention are set forth in the characterizing clause of the accompanying claim 1. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
An embodiment at present preferred and having characteristic features significant of the present invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings; in which;
Figure 1 is a side view of a roof-mounted crane-arm arrangement that has been mounted with the aid of a mounting frame that has a construction which conforms with the properties or criteria associated with the present invention and shows straight arm parts of the crane-arm arrangement, which are adapted to extend parallel with and along the centre axis of a vehicle and over part of its roof; Figure 2 is a side view of the vehicle showing the roof-mounted crane-arm arrangement with the aid of said mounting frame, with a construction that conforms with the properties associated with the invention and with the arm portions of the crane-arm arrangement extending straight and rearwardly and adapted to extend parallel with and along a centre line of the vehicle and rearwardly beyond the vehicle roof; Figure 3 is a perspective side view of a vehicle that has mounted on its roof a crane- arm arrangement with the aid of the mounting frame, having a construction that conforms with the properties associated with the present invention and with the arm portions of the crane-arm arrangement mutually angled and adapted to extend over and obliquely rearwardly across the centre line of the vehicle and to some degree across the whole of a vehicle roof portion;
Figure 4 illustrates a mounting frame, according to the present invention, in a first perspective view, whereas
Figure 5 illustrates the mounting frame of Figure 4 in a second perspective view; and Figure 6 illustrates, as in figures 6A, 6B and 6C, given details of the mounting frame in a somewhat enlarged presentation.
DESCRIPTION OF EiViBODSIViENTS AT PRESENT PREFERRED
It will be mentioned initially that in the following description of a proposed embodiment at present preferred and having significant characteristic features associated with the present invention and which are made clear in the figures of the accompanying drawings we have chosen to use certain terms and particular terminology with the primary intention of clarifying the concept of the present invention. !t wil! be noted, however, that in this context the terms and expressions chosen shaii not be considered to limit soie!y the terms used here but that it shaSi be understood that each term chosen shall be interpreted to also include a!l technical equivalents and to function in the same way or essentially in the same way so as to be able to achieve the same or essentially the same object and/or technical effect.
The accompanying Figures 1 to 3 illustrate (a crane arrangement) the orientation of a crane-arm arrangement on a roof portion of a known vehicle "F", whiie figures 4 to 6 illustrate more in detail not soieiy the present invention but also to concretise the significant properties or criteria of the invention with the aid of the now proposed embodiment described in more detail hereinafter.
Figure 1 is a side view of a vehicle "F" on the roof of which there has been mounted a crane arrangement 2, with the aid of a mounting frame 1 that has a construction which conforms with the features associated with the present invention, wherein the crane arm arrangement 2 has straight and rearward Iy extending arm portions 2a, 2b, which are parallel with and positioned laterally and sidewise of the centre line "f" and which extend beyond the laterally orientated roof portion "Fa" of the vehicle.
Figure 2 shows in a side elevation the same vehicle "F" as in Figure 1 , with its roof mounted crane arm arrangement 2, using a mounting frame 1 , with a construction adapted to the principles expressed by the present invention, and where the arm portions 2a, 2b are arranged and oriented straight and directed rearwards and are adopted to extend parallel to however sidewise the centre Sine "f" and passing the roof portion "Fa" of the vehicle.
Figure 3 is a perspective side view of the vehicle "F" on the roof of which a crane arm arrangement 2 has been mounted with the aid of a mounting frame 1 that has a construction which comprises with the features associated with the present invention, wherein the crane arm arrangement includes arm portions 2a, 2b, which are angled and intended to extend transversely over the centreline "f" of the vehicle "F" and obliquely rearward to a large extent over the roof part "Fa" of the vehicle, so as to be able to lift or Sower goods in this state by application of a force (tipping effect) on the crane arm arrangement and distributed to the opposite sides of the vehicle centreline

Figure 4 is a perspective view of the inventive mounting frame 1 firmly fitted to a loading vehicle, from which it will be seen that the mounting frame carries a crane arm arrangement 2 or a crane arrangement, in respect of a simpler application.
With reference to the attached Figures 4 to 6 it is here illustrated a mounting frame 1 , produced in accordance with inventive principles, as a fixed but readily removable intermediate arrangement "A", which enables a crane arm arrangement 2 to be mounted on a foundation 3, which includes a plurality, such as four, fastener units 4 which can be fastened to the arrangement "A" or to the mounting frame 1 , said fastener u- nits being intended for fixed, but readily releasable, co-action with frame-related attachments or fastener units 5, each of which being orientated towards opposing end parts 6a, 6b and 7a, 7b respectively of each of their two identical and symmetrical beam constructions 6 and 7.
Each of said beam constructions 8, 7 is securely connected to a support plate 8, which is adapted for the crane arm arrangement (2) and which includes a plurality of first fastener means 9 intended for fixed, but readily reieasabie, co-action with second fastening means (10) assigned to the crane arm arrangement (2).
More particularly it is proposed that the support plate 8 is beneficially capable of being displaced sidewise laterally relative to the longitudinal extension 6' or 7' of a respective beam construction 8 and 7.
it is also proposed that each plate 8 can be supported on its respective edge 8a, 8b by one or two stiffening elements, 11 , 11a, positioned transversely of the beam constructions 6, 7.
These stiffening elements 11 , 11a are fastened to opposing or oppositely directed wall portions 6c, 7c of a respective beam construction 6, 7 and two opposite edges 8c, 8d of said support plate 8. Adjacent the support piate 8 and between one edge 8b of the support plate and frame-related fasteners there is provided a sunken stiffening arrangement 12 which is affixed to opposing wail portions 6c, 7c of the beam constructions 6, 7, these wall portions being intended to support a co-ordination of valve arrangements (not shown) for carrying out each of the functions related to the crane arm arrangement 2 and/or a chosen coordination of said functions.
There is positioned adjacent the support plate 8 and between the (second) edge 8a of the support plate and the central part of the beam construction a sunken and stiffening arrangement 13, which is affixed to the opposing wall portions 6c, 7c of the beam constructions 6, 7, intended for supporting a co-ordinated manoeuvring unit or control unit (not shown) for carrying out each of the functions related to the crane arm arrangement or functions related to a co-ordination of selected arrangement functions.
One or each of the two beam constructions 6, 7 include between their frame-related fasteners a reduced height dimension within a centra! region designated "L1" in figure 5.
These frame-related fasteners may comprise an extension of the beam constructions 6, 7 and wil! therewith have a four-sided cross-section or a rectangular box-like profile 14, that includes a central support element 15 in accordance with figure 6A.
Fastener means, such as means in the form of two side-related bolt joints 16, 17 are each positioned on a respective side of said support element 15.
Figure 6B is a detailed illustration of the stiffening arrangement 13 fastened in the wall part 7c, while figure 6C is a detailed illustration of the support plate fastening.
It wiii, of course, be understood that the invention is not restricted to the embodiment described above and that modifications can be made within the scope of the inventive concept defined in the accompanying claims. It will also be noted that each unit and/or circuit can be combined with each other illustrated unit and/or circuit within the framework of being able to achieve a desired technical function.

Claims

CLAMS
1. A mounting frame, which is intended to provide as an intermediate arrangement (A), a fixed, aithough readiiy reieasable and removable arrangement, on which a crane arm arrangement or a crane arrangement can be mounted to a foundation (3) or support, where said foundation or support includes a plurality, such as four, of fasteners (4), which can be fastened to the arrangement, and which are orientated for a fixed, but readily reieasable and removable co- action with fasteners (5) related to the mounting frame, wherewith each of the fasteners is orientated opposite the end portions (6a, 6b: 7a, 7b) of each of two beam constructions (6, 7), characterized in that said mounting frame (1) is arranged onto the roof of a vehicle (F), that a support plate (8), intended for the crane arm arrangement (2), is firmly connected to a respective one of said beam constructions (6, 7); and in that said support plate includes a plurality of first fastening means (9), intended for fixed, but readily removable co-action with second fastening means (10), allotted to the crane arm arrangement.
2. A mounting frame according to claim 1 , characterized in that the support te is sidewise displaced laterally in relation to a longitudinal extension of the beam construction.
3. A mounting frame according to claim 1 , characterized in that the support plate is supported via an edge with the aid of one or two stiffening elements placed transversely of the beam constructions.
4. A mounting frame according to claim 3, characterized in that said stiffening element or elements is/are fastened to opposing wall portions in respect of each beam construction and two opposing edges of said support plate.

A mounting frame according to claim 1 , characterized in that there is provided, adjacent the support plate, between one edge of said plate and fasteners related to the mounting frame, a stiffening element or arrangement, which is fastened to the beam constructions and intended to support a co-ordinated valve means, for carrying out each of and/or a collection of functions reiated to the crane arm arrangement.

A mounting frame according to claim 1 or 5, characterized in that the frame includes adjacent the support piate and between the second edge of said plate and a centra! part of the beam construction a sunken stiffening arrangement, which is fastened to the beam constructions and which is intended to support a co-ordinated manoeuvring unit or control unit for carrying out each of the functions related to the crane arm arrangement.
7. A mounting frame according to claim 1 , characterized in that one or each of the two beam constructions has been allotted a reducing height dimension between its fastener means reiated to said mounting frame.
8. A mounting frame according to claim 1 , characterized in that the fastener means, related to the mounting frame and its associated beam construction, each have a four-sided cross-section or a rectangular box-like profile that includes a centrally positioned support element.
9. A mounting frame according to claim 1 or 8, characterized in that fastening means are in the form of two side-related bolt joints, positioned on each respective side of said support element.
