Abstract

The invention relates to an automated bottle filling unit (1) including a honeycombed (4) circular plate (3) which can rotate in order to transport the bottles between operating stations (6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12), said plate rotating intermittently so that an operation can be performed on each bottle at each station. The aforementioned stations include a first station for receiving a bottle from the upstream line, a last station from which the bottle is transferred to a downstream line (13) and an intermediate filling station (6) located between the first station and the last station in the direction of transport. According to the invention, the filling station can move and is synchronised to follow the movement of the plate along a pre-determined segment of the circular path thereof between a start position and an end position, a group of bottles being filled continuously and in parallel during said movement. The filling station comprises a fill spout (18) supporting element which can also move in vertical translation between a low position and a high position. The unit also includes means for ensuring that the filling station moves from the initial high start position to the low position and begins the filling operation. The spout supporting element moves back up gradually during the filling operation and, once the bottles have been filled, said supporting element is returned to the high position before the filling station returns to the start position thereof.
