技術分野
[0001] 本発明は、ホットメルト印刷用に使用されるスクリーンマスクに関するものである。
背景技術
[0002] 従来より、例えばガラスへの装飾などにぉ 、てホットメルト印刷が行われて 、る。
近年、高精度が特に要求される電機 ·電子部品等の分野においてもホットメルト印 刷が行われるようになつてきており、ホットメルト型のペースト状インキも開発され始め てきている。
[0003] このようなホットメルト型のペースト状インキは、従来の溶媒含有型のペースト状イン キとは異なって印刷時あるいは保管時における溶媒成分の揮発拡散に基づく性状 変化がなぐかつ印刷後のインクの固化ないし定着に必要な時間が短いことからイン クパターン形状を容易に保持可能な点でその有用性が注目されて 、るものである。 また、溶媒成分の揮発を伴わな 、ことは環境問題の点からも好ま 、。
[0004] しかし、ホットメルト印刷では、印刷時にインキを印刷可能な溶融軟ィ匕状態に保持 する必要がある。このことから、従来、この種のホットメルト印刷用スクリーンマスクとし ては、版枠材に直接金属製スクリーンメッシュを固着して、この版枠もしくは金属製ス クリーンメッシュに電極を設置し電流を流すことでスクリーンメッシュを発熱させ、ホット メルト型のペースト状インキを印刷可能な状態に保持するものが知られている。

発明の開示
発明が解決しょうとする課題
[0006] 版枠材に直接スクリーンメッシュを固着させる従来のホットメルト印刷用スクリーンマ スクでは、印刷時の位置決め精度が悪いうえに印刷時の版の寿命が短い為、高精度
を要する印刷への適用は困難であった。また、スクリーン印刷時に版枠材も過度に加 熱されてしまうので、熱膨張等によって版枠材が変形したり、スクリーンの緊張状態が 変化することによって、印刷精度を高めることが難し力つた。さらに、高価な金属製ス クリーンを直接版枠材に固着させるため、スクリーンメッシュの使用量が多くなつて、 製造コストが高 、ものとなって!/、た。
課題を解決するための手段
[0007] 本発明は、高精度のホットメルト印刷が可能な印刷用スクリーンマスクを提供するも のである。
[0008] 上記目的を達成するために、本発明によるホットメルト印刷用スクリーンマスクは、電 流によって発熱可能な導電性材料力もなる画像部スクリーンを、該画像部スクリーン の周縁部外側に形成された外周部スクリーンを介して版枠材の内側に緊張状態で保 持してなり、前記の画像部スクリーンへの通電によって前記の画像部スクリーンが発 熱できるように形成されたことを特徴とするもの、である。

発明の効果
[0012] 本発明によるホットメルト印刷用スクリーンマスクは、加熱されたとしても、スクリーン の変形や寸法および位置変化が少な 、ことから、印刷精度よくホットメルト印刷を行う ことができる。そして、高価な高精度の発熱性スクリーンを画像部スクリーン部のみに 用いて 、ることから、製造コストが低減したものである。
[0013] そして、画像部スクリーンが外周部スクリーンを介して版枠材の内側に緊張状態で
保持されて ヽることから、ホットメルト印刷時に適切な押圧で被転写材に接触させるこ とができる。よって、高精度のホットメルト印刷が可能となる。

本発明では、ホットメルト印刷時の熱的条件および機械的条件等に対して十分な耐 熱性および耐久性を備えた材料、例えば金属材料、好ましくは例えばステンレス、タ ングステン、アモルファスカーボン等カゝらなるスクリーンメッシュや、電铸法で製造され たメッシュを用いることができる。また、本発明では、スクリーンメッシュへの後加工で あるカレンダー加工やめつき加工によって得られたメッシュを用いることができる。
[0023] このような金属材料力もなるスクリーンメッシュは、寸法安定性が高いので、繰り返し 使用されたとして優れた印刷精度が保たれるものである。
[0024] スクリーン印刷に際しては、画像部スクリーン Aへ通電することによって画像部スクリ ーン Aを発熱させ、所定の温度以上の温度条件に画像部スクリーン Aを維持して、そ の状態において画像部スクリーン Aの一方の面にホットメルト型のペースト状インキを 例えばスキージ等によって適用して、画像部スクリーン Aの反対面に配置された被転
写体に対して、画像部スクリーン Aの画像を転写することができる。
[0025] 外周部スクリーン Bは、前記の画像部スクリーン Aの周縁部 2の外側に形成され、前 記の画像部スクリーン Aを版枠材の内側に緊張状態で保持するものである。この外 周部スクリーン Bとしては、榭脂材料力もなるスクリーンメッシュを用いることが好ましい 。このような榭脂材料の好ましい具体例としては、例えばポリエステル、ポリアミド、ポリ アタリレート等、力もなるスクリーンメッシュを挙げることができる。このような榭脂材料 力 なるスクリーンメッシュは、その適度の弾性によって画像部スクリーン Aを適度な 緊張状態で保持することが容易である。また、この榭脂材料は、金属材料に比べて 熱伝導性が著しく小さ 、ので、画像部スクリーン Aからの版枠材 3への熱伝導が防止 される。よって、版枠材 3の熱変形およびこれによって画像部スクリーン Aの変形や位 置ずれが有効に防止される。そして、このような榭脂材料は、電気絶縁性のものであ ることから画像部スクリーン A力もの漏電を有効に防止するできる点でも好ましい。

外周部スクリーン Bとの重ね合わせ部の内部に設けることもできるし、重ね合わせ部 の外部に設けることもできる。好ましくは、重ね合わせ部の外部(即ち、画像部スクリ ーン Aの外部)に設置する。電極の設置は、半田による接着やクリップなどが考えら れるが、限定されることはない。
実施例

[0038] 通電を行うことによって、上記の実施例および比較例のホットメルト印刷用スクリーン マスクのステンレス鋼製スクリーンメッシュを発熱させ、その画像部スクリーンの中心付 近の表面温度が 40°C、 60°C、 80°Cにほぼ保たれるように電圧を調整した。
[0039] 実施例および比較例のホットメルト印刷用スクリーンマスク中の 25領域それぞれの 中心部の表面温度を放射温度計で測定することによって、ホットメルト印刷用スクリー ンマスクの熱分布状態を評価した。
結果は、図 4 (A)〜(D)および図 5 (A)〜(D)に示される通りである。
[0040] 図 4に示される通り、本発明によるホットメルト印刷用スクリーンマスクでは外周部ス クリーン部分の温度が低ぐ従って版枠材の温度上昇も抑制させていることことから、 版枠材の熱変形が防止されている。よって、本発明によるホットメルト印刷用スクリー
ンマスクによれば印刷精度を向上させることができる。
Claims
[1] 電流によって発熱可能な導電性材料からなる画像部スクリーンを、該画像部スクリ ーンの周縁部外側に形成された外周部スクリーンを介して版枠材の内側に緊張状態 で保持してなり、前記の画像部スクリーンへの通電によって前記の画像部スクリーン が発熱できるように形成されたことを特徴とする、ホットメルト印刷用スクリーンマスク。
[2] 前記の外周部スクリーンが絶縁性材料力もなる、請求項 1に記載のホットメルト印刷 用スクリーンマスク。
[3] 前記の画像部スクリーンがその周縁部において前記外周部スクリーンと重ね合わさ れ、この重ね合わせ部において前記画像部スクリーンと前記外周部スクリーンとが接 合されてなる、請求項 1に記載のホットメルト印刷用スクリーンマスク。
[4] 前記の画像部スクリーンへの通電が、前記の画像部スクリーンの外部に設けられた 電極を介して行われる、請求項 1に記載のホットメルト印刷用スクリーンマスク。
