Abstract
La présente invention concerne des matériaux et des procédés comprenant des nanoparticules, comme des nanoparticules semi-conductrices et des particules semi-conductrices magnétiques. Les nanoparticules selon l'invention peuvent présenter des propriétés utiles qui peuvent être affinées à un degré de contrôle élevé au moyen des divers procédés de l'invention. Dans certains modes de réalisation, les nanoparticules peuvent être réalisées pour présenter une certaine propriété ou combinaison de propriétés, comme des propriétés optiques et magnétiques. La présente invention concerne également des revêtements (par ex. des revêtements de silice) et des procédés associés qui peuvent améliorer diverses propriétés des nanoparticules. Les nanoparticules ci-décrites peuvent être utiles dans des applications comme l'étiquetage d'espèces biologiques, le marquage de médicaments, l'imagerie par résonance magnétique (IRM), entre autres applications.
