Definitions

  • the invention relates to firearms and equipment and is aimed at ensuring the survivability of the barrel of an automatic weapon, mainly firing in long bursts
  • the device provides continuous blowing and a long time blowing the barrel when firing, however, the design is difficult to manufacture and adjust.
  • the present invention solves the problem of increasing the survivability of the barrel and weapons as a whole with the simplicity and efficiency of the design of the device for cooling the barrel.
  • the problem is solved in that in the device for forced cooling of the barrel, made in the form of a casing covering the barrel with a narrowing in the muzzle region to a diameter not less than the diameter of the bullet, and with subsequent expansion behind the muzzle section, the casing near the muzzle section is mounted on the barrel by means of ribs, and an axial turbine is installed on the side of the ribs facing away from the muzzle end. Through holes are made through holes with increasing diameters away from the muzzle.
  • the barrel cooling method implemented in the inventive device is based on the Bernoulli effect, which consists in the fact that with an increase in the gas flow rate, the pressure in it decreases, and a decrease in pressure leads to the absorption of air from the environment through the openings in the casing. Since the inner part of the casing has a certain resistance to the air moving inside, with holes of equal diameter in the part of the casing, more remote from the muzzle, the air flow is weaker. The uniformity of the air flow inside the casing is ensured by the increase in the diameter of the holes in the casing as they move away from the muzzle.
  • the invention is illustrated by the description and the attached drawings, which shows a General view of the air cooling device mounted on the barrel.
  • the device comprises a barrel 1, on which, through a support in the form of ribs 2, a casing 3 is installed, made with a smooth narrowing in the region of the muzzle section to a diameter no smaller than the diameter of the bullet, and then expanding beyond the muzzle section.
  • Through holes 4 are made on the surface of the casing, the diameter of which increases as the hole is indented from the muzzle end line.
  • An axial turbine 5 is installed near the support of the casing. The device operates as follows.
  • powder gases moving in the casing with high speed create rarefaction in the region of the casing openings, facilitating the absorption of air from the environment, which takes heat from the barrel, through the casing.
  • the flow rate of powder gases increases due to a decrease in the diameter of the casing in the muzzle region.
  • the flow tells it to rotate, which enhances the suction effect. Improving the cooling efficiency of the barrel increases the resource of weapons and accuracy.
  • the invention can be used in the design of automatic small arms, mainly firing in long bursts.
