Abstract
The present invention relates to processes for qualitative and/or quantitative determination of organic trace substances in aqueous systems, comprising the steps of: a) providing at least one sample of an aqueous system to be analyzed, comprising at least one organic trace substance, in a sample vessel, a gas phase being present above the aqueous system, b) cooling the aqueous system in the sample vessel with controlled conversion of at least a portion of the aqueous system to the solid phase in such a way that the organic trace substance(s) in the remaining aqueous phase is/are enriched, and c) extracting the organic trace substance(s) from the gas phase present above the aqueous system to be analyzed and/or detecting the organic trace substance(s) therein and/or detecting the organic trace substance(s) in the remaining aqueous phase. The invention further relates to an analysis apparatus for performing the process according to the invention, comprising at least one cooling unit for taking up and for controlled cooling of a multitude of aqueous systems which are present in sample vessels and are to be analyzed for organic trace substances, at least one sample vessel with a lid, especially at least two sample vessels with lids for sealing, especially gas-tight sealing, of the sample vessel(s) comprising the aqueous system to be analyzed for organic trace substances, a gas phase being present in the vessel above the aqueous system, at least one carrier on which at least one SPME or SPDE sorption layer is present, the sorption layer being mounted or mountable at least partly in the sample vessel in the gas phase above the aqueous system, at least one apparatus for removing the sorption layer, with or without carrier, from the sample vessel and for feeding it to a desorption unit in which the organic trace substances enriched on or in the sorption layer can be desorbed, and at least one apparatus for detecting the desorbed organic trace substances.
