Abstract

Nuevos genotipos del nucleopoliedrovirus de Spodoptera exigua y uso de los mismos en el control de las plagas producidas por este insecto. La invención se refiere a seis nuevos genotipos del nucleopoliedrovirus múltiple de Spodoptera exigua denominados AlPstM0935, AlPstM1400, AlPstM1033, AlPstM1449, AlPstM0923, y AlPstM0657 y su uso, preferentemente como mezcla de dos o más genotipos, dentro de composiciones insecticidas contra plagas producidas por Spodoptera exigua. Una forma preferida de realización de la invención es añadir a estas composiciones abrillantadores ópticos, potenciando así su capacidad insecticida. La invención describe también un método de producción de poliedros del virus inoculando larvas de Spodoptera exigua, preferiblemente tratadas previamente con un análogo de la hormona juvenil de este lepidóptero. Las composiciones insecticidas de la invención representan una tecnología limpia y segura, al no dejar residuos tóxicos sobre las cosechas ni ser tóxicas para el hombre ni otros animales, incluidos parasitoides y depredadores de plagas.
