Abstract

The invention relates to a dressing (100) for placing around a line emerging from a human or animal body opening or cavity, said line having been inserted by surgery. The dressing has a flat absorption body (1.1) and at least one slit (5) that allows the dressing to be placed around the line on the body of the patient. A second flat absorption body, lying at a distance (A) from the first absorption body (1.1), is assigned to the latter, the distance (A) being spanned by a connecting strip or web (3).

Description

Bandage for transferring a surgically applied lead from a human or animal body orifice

The invention relates to a bandage for transferring a surgically applied lead from a human or animal body orifice, comprising a planar absorbent body and at least one slit which allows the dressing to be folded around the body of the patient by respective leads.

In Fig. 15, a known dressing 50 is shown, consisting of a rectangular cut or punched nonwoven section, which has a reaching to about the middle of the nonwoven section toward slot 5. Such surgical dressings, called slit compresses, may be aluminum coated on their flat side facing the patient's body. A disadvantage of the known slot compress is that it must be replaced more often due to their insufficient capacity.

The object of the invention is to develop a new dressing dressing to a surgically applied line from a human or animal body orifice or cavity, which is characterized by increased absorption capacity of wound secretions. This object is achieved by an association of the type mentioned above in that the absorption body is associated with a second, also planar absorption body, which is spaced from the first absorption body, which distance is bridged by a connecting strip or web.

Preferably, a construction of the bandage is selected in which the slot is arranged outside the two absorption bodies, that is to say on the connection strip.

The two absorption bodies can each be surrounded by a liquid-permeable casing, which forms a barrier for solid coarse precipitates and makes it possible to absorb or withdraw substances which escape and / or have to be removed by the absorption body arranged inside the casing.

The slot can be arranged on a piece of film with which the absorption body or bodies are underlaid.

An increased absorption capacity is provided by superabsorbent particles with which the material of the absorption body can be interspersed. Preferably, the material of the absorbent body is non-woven, although it is not excluded, for the absorbent body, a textile fabric or a composite consisting of the non-woven and woven material to use. The absorption body can at least partially consist of alginates.

Seam sections may be incorporated on the shell, which separate the two absorption bodies from one another and at the same time form the connecting strip. The connection strip can also be used as a separate part, for example foil strips, by being connected to the casings of the two absorption bodies. In addition, the term "dressing" is replaced by the term "slot compress".

The slot compress may have one or more, preferably two slots, which are arranged substantially at right angles to each other. Accordingly, the slit compress may be in a double design, where there are one or two pairs of wrapped, stackable absorbent bodies.

In Figures 1, 3a and 3b, a first embodiment (reference numeral 100) of the slit compress is shown, consisting of two planar, rectangular absorption bodies 1.1, 1.2, which are each surrounded by a liquid-permeable casing 2.1, 2.2. The sheaths 2.1, 2.2 are at a distance A from each other and are connected to each other via a centrally extending connecting strip 3, which by insertion on a common first, twice as large a cover 2 (dashed line, Fig. 3a) of two parallel arranged seam sections 4.1 , 4.2 between the absorption bodies 1.1, 1.2 is formed.

The seam sections 4.1, 4.2 thus define the connecting strip 3, on which in turn a slot 5 extending parallel to the seam section 4.1, 4.2 and approximately reaching to the middle of the slot compress is punched out. The connecting strip 3 is about 6 mm wide. The slot 5 is a maximum of 4 mm wide and can approach an extremely small value, which corresponds to a knife-edge, that is almost the zero value. The slit compress 100 is in plan view of its flat side about 7 cm x 15 cm in size. A designated "7", peripheral outer edge is interrupted only at the slot 5 and coincides with a circumferential seam. 8

Figures 2 and 4 show a slit compress 200, which differs from the slit compress 100 already described only by a projection 9, which in turn is defined by the outer edge 7 spaced from the seam 8. As shown in Fig. 4, the outer edge 7 is not sewn together or - welded.

The attachment of the sterile slit compress 200 on the body of the patient represent the figures 5a and 5b. After the wound disinfection, the slit compress 200 is placed around the conduit 13 and secured by two adhesive tapes 11 to the skin. The sheath 2.1, 2.2 is made of a perforated foil material whose one surface, the outer surface of the slotted compress, is velvety smooth and thus gentle to the wound. The smooth surface of the slit compress protects the wound and surrounding skin from irritation.

A primary dressing 10 (see Figures 10b and 12a) can be placed on the wound as a so-called wound distance grid on which the slotted compress is placed as a secondary dressing. The film-like, perforated primary dressing 10 also has a slot 25. In one embodiment, not shown, the primary dressing 10 is factory-connected to the slit compress, for example via peripheral welding points. The postoperative dressing change interval is determined by the responsible physician.

FIG. 6a shows a simplified slit compress 300, comprising two separate, enveloped absorption bodies 1.1, 1.2 and a film section 6 connecting the absorption bodies 1.1, 1.2. The film section 6 is adhesively bonded to the absorption bodies 1.1, 1.2. The slot 5 is formed by the mutually facing outer edges 7 of the two absorption bodies 1.1, 1.2. The film section 6 has an adhesive surface 12, which is released only after removal of a protective film, not shown.

A different embodiment 400 is shown in FIGS. 6b, 6c and 6d. A film section 14, which replaces the film strip 6 described in FIG. 6a, is enlarged by a free-hanging flap 17, which can be folded around a bending line 16 and adhered to the body of the patient.

According to FIG. 6d, a third rectangular absorption body 1.3 is still arranged on the film section 14. Here, the slot 5 tapers to almost zero value at an outer edge 27 of the film section 14. Optionally, the film section 14 may be made of an adhesive film, in which its adhesive surface (not shown) is covered with a peelable protective film.

7 shows a round slit compress 500 consisting of two semicircular absorption bodies 1.1, 1.2 and a round casing 2, which is also divided into two likewise semicircular casings 2.1, 2.2 by attaching two seam sections 4.1, 4.2. At the connecting strip 3, the slot 5 is punched or cut out. Optionally, incisions 18 may be made on the absorbent material of the absorption body, which preferably extend radially, leaving the one-piece shape of the material. The radial cuts 18 allow the Slit compress 500 better to mold and adapt to the particular situation.

A rectangular slit compress 600 with a diagonally extending connecting strip 3 and with two triangular absorption bodies 1.1, 1.2 is shown in FIG. 11.

A two-wing 19.1, 19.2 Slit Compression 700 is shown in Figures 8a, 8b and 8c. The wings 19.1, 19.2 each consist of two coated absorption bodies 1.1, 1.2 with interposed connecting strip 3 according to Figure 2, wherein the slot 5 of the one wing 19.1 is perpendicular to a second slot 15 on the other wing 19.2. This configuration makes it possible to fold the two wings 19.1, 19.2 together around a fold line 21. The slot compress 700 can be referred to as a double-slit compress whose absorption capacity of liquids is correspondingly greater than that of the individual slit compress. Prerequisite for this is a greater permeability of two inner walls 22.1, 22.2 of the shell 2 relative to the other walls of the shell or the sleeves 2.1, 2.2. To fix the wing 19.2 and thus the whole double slit compress on the body of the patient can serve tapes, not shown.

According to FIG. 9, the one wing 19.2 facing away from the body of the patient can be replaced by a foil section 23. The film section 23 is larger in area than the other wing 19.1 and is provided at its periphery with an adhesive layer 24. A protective film, not shown, releases the adhesive layer 24 after it has been peeled off. Now the film portion 23 can fix the placed around the line 13 around wings 19.1 on the body of the patient.

Another double slit compress 800 can be seen in FIGS. 10a and 10b. This consists of two around the fold line 21st collapsible, rectangular, enveloped absorption bodies 1.1, 1.2, to each of which a slot 5, 15 is introduced, which gives the absorption body a U-shape. Conveniently, the one, on the body-proximate absorbent body 1.1 arranged slot 5 is wider than the second slot 15, so that the absorbent body 1.1 can be placed around the line 13 around easier. The two slots 5; 15 are directed vertically to each other. Optionally, the slit compress 800 can be underlaid by the primary dressing 10 (wound spacer grid), on which a slot 25 is incorporated. Two adjacent or overlapping, narrower wound spacer meshes (not shown) may be used.

Another slot compression 900 shown in FIGS. 12a and 12b may be referred to as a double pad. The double pad is made in one piece and has two round, fleece-like absorption bodies 1.1, 1.2, which are collapsible similar to the slot compress 800 shown in FIGS. 10a, 10b. The slots 5; 15 can be different widths. The absorption body 1.1, 1.2 are performed in one piece with a web 26 which connects the two absorption body together. The body-near absorption body 1.1 can be underlaid by a primary dressing 10 (wound distance grid) already described. Optionally, the body of the patient facing surface of the absorbent body 1.1 may be plastic or metal coated. The nonwoven material can be replaced by alginate. In order for the maceration to be avoided at the edge of the wound, in the latter case the primary dressing 10 (wound distance grid) should have larger dimensions than the absorption body 1.1.

13 shows a slot compress 901 consisting of absorption bodies 1. 1, 1. 2, which are interconnected via the connection strip 3, and a sleeve-like open, flattened shell 28 made of liquid-permeable nonwoven material. The shell 28 may be foam or foil-like. From Fig. 14 goes shows that the sheath 28 has two slots 35.1, 35.2, each terminating in an approximately central opening 36.1, 36.2 for placement on the line 13. At the edge of the opening 36.1, 36.2 radially directed cuts 37 can be seen, which facilitate the placement on the lines 13 of different diameters. In another example, not shown, the shell 28 has no slots, but only two mutually coincident openings 36.1, 36.2.

All seams attached to the slot compresses described above are ultrasonic seams.

The dressing or slit compress according to the invention is not pre-moistened placed on the body surface of the patient.

Claims:
