Abstract

La présente invention concerne un appareil et une méthode pour mesurer l'expansion et la contraction en général, et en particulier pour surveiller la respiration de patients en mesurant le périmètre du torse (périmétrie cinétique thoracique) en temps réel, en particulier pour mesurer l'expansibilité thoracique chez des patients recevant une physiothérapie ou un traitement clinique ou dans tous les cas dans lesquels une évaluation de la mobilité thoracique est nécessaire. La mesure se fait par une sonde résistive qui produit un signal de tension proportionnel à la position d'un curseur coulissant. D'autres modes de réalisations peuvent également utiliser une sonde capacitive et un encodeur linéaire.
