Abstract

Sous certains modes de réalisation, la présente invention concerne un appareil approprié pour déterminer les propriétés d'un tissu in vivo à partir de données spectrales fournies par le tissu. Un système d'irradiation fournit de la lumière suivant une pluralité de plages de large spectre, lesquelles sont communiquées à une sonde optique. La sonde optique reçoit la lumière du système d'irradiation et la transmet au tissu in vivo; elle reçoit, en réponse à la lumière de large spectre, une lumière réfléchie par réflexion diffuse émise par fluorescence par le tissu in vivo, ou une combinaison de telles lumières. La sonde optique communique la lumière à un spectrographe qui génère un signal représentatif des propriétés spectrales de la lumière. Un système d'analyse détermine une propriété du tissu in vivo à partir des propriétés spectrales. Un dispositif d'étalonnage est monté de telle sorte qu'il soit en communication optique périodique avec la sonde optique.
