Titel: Hochbeständiges Kunststoffbauteil, das zur Lumi¬ neszenz geeignet ist
Technisches Gebiet
Die Erfindung geht aus von einem hochbeständigen lumines- zierenden Kunststoffbauteil gemäß dem Oberbegriff des Anspruchs 1. Derartige Kunststoffbauteile sind insbesondere für technische Geräte wie Handys von Interesse.
Stand der Technik
Aus der WO 2004/030109, US 6 669 866 und aus der US 66826683 sind hochbeständige anorganische Leuchtstoffe, insbesondere für die Anwendung bei LEDs, bekannt.
Bisher werden lumineszierende Kunststoffe immer auf der Basis organischer Leuchtstoffe hergestellt. Nachteil dieser Bauart ist die im allgemeinen geringe Beständigkeit gegen Umwelteinflüsse wie den UV-Anteil des Sonnenlichts. Die organischen Leuchtstoffe sind leicht verarbeitbar und billig. Zum Einsatz in "Designerstücken" höherer Preisklassen, wie Handys, MP3-Player (iPod) usw., sind diese Kunststoffe aber aufgrund der Alterung nur bedingt geeignet. Anorganische, im sichtbaren Spektralbereich anregbare Leuchtstoffe, insbesondere im blaugrünen, grünen und roten Spektralbereich, sind dafür bisher nicht in Erwägung gezogen worden. Bekannt ist z.B. auch eine Tastenbeleuchtung bei Handys durch LED- Hinterleuchtung . Darstellung der Erfindung
Die Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung ist es, ein hochbeständiges Kunststoffbauteil anzugeben, das sich beson¬ ders für technische Geräte, die elektrisch betreiben werden, eignet.
Diese Aufgabe wird gelöst durch die kennzeichnenden Merk¬ male des Anspruchs 1.
Besonders vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen finden sich in den abhängigen Ansprüchen.
Im folgenden wird eine Möglichkeit zur Herstellung von weißen oder farbigen lumineszierenden Kunststoffbauteilen mit hoher Beständigkeit gegen Umwelteinflüsse wie Feuchtigkeit, Hitze und Sonnenlicht beschrieben. Diese Kunststoffbauteile können z. B. eingesetzt werden, um die Bedienung von Geräten zu erleichten. Insbesondere lassen sie sich verwenden um unterschiedlich farbig lumineszierende Bereiche bei einheitlicher Hinterleuchtungsfarbe zu schaffen. Noch wichtiger ist aber der Designaspekt. Mit Hilfe dieser Kunststoffbauteile lassen sich z. B. -optional austauschbare- Gehäuseschalen für mobile, elektronische Geräte wie Handys, PDAs, MP3-Player usw. herstellen, die z.B. bei ausgeschalteter Hinterleuchtung grün, bzw. auch je nach Leuchtstoff gelb oder rot, erscheinen, aber bei eingeschalteter Beleuchtung, z. B. infolge eines Tastendrucks, eines Anrufs, eines gespeicherten Termins o.a., andersartig, insbesondere lagunenfarben, oder auch weiß oder pink, leuchten. Die Leuchtstoffe präsentieren insbesondere im ausgeschalteten Zustand eine Körperfarbe und wechseln im eingeschalteten Zustand in die Farbe der Lumineszenz. Dies gilt vorzugsweise für Leuchtstoffe, die mit blauer Primärstrahlung (Peak bei etwa 420 bis 475 nm) angeregt werden. Im Falle einer UV-Anregung, insbesondere bei 350 nm, bevorzugt 380 nm bis 415 nm, sind die Leuchtstoff-Partikel eher farblos bzw. weiß.
Des weiteren ist eine Aufmachung des Kunststoffbauteils attraktiv, bei der die Körperfarbe durch eine dünne KunststoffSchicht bei Anstrahlung von außen (Reflexion) verdeckt ist, die aber so dünn ist, dass sie bei Hinterleuchtung transparent ist. Möglich ist zum Beispiel eine Einfärbung bzw. Verdunkelung des Kunststoffs durch zusätzliche Absorber ähnlich wie bei Autorücklichtern bekannt. Das reflektierte Licht läuft zweimal durch den Kunstoff, während das emittierte Licht einen kürzeren Weg durch den "abgedunkelten" Kunststoff hat. Daher kann der Kunststoff bei Tageslicht annähernd schwarz (oder entsprechend der zusätzlichen Absorption farbig) aussehen, während sich die Farbe bei Lumineszenz ändert.
Ein konventioneller Kunststoff wird mit anorganischen Leuchtstoffpartikeln (z. B. gelbes YAG:Ce oder andere Ce- dotierte Granate oder grünes bis gelbes
(Sr, Ca, Ba) Si2O2N2 :Eu oder rotes Nitridosilikat
(Ba, Sr, Ca) 2Si5N8 :Eu) wie beispielsweise in WO
2004/030109, US 6 669 866 und US 66826683 beschrieben homogen vermischt und in die gewünschte Form
(dreidimensional, zweidimensional als dünne Folie, eindimensional als Markierungslinie) gebracht (z.B. im flüssigen Zustand giessen, extrudieren o.a., Aushärten über Temperatur, Strahlung o.a., mit und ohne weitere Zusätze) . Die Zusammensetzung und Konzentration des
Leuchtstoffs bestimmen die Farbe des Kunststoffs, sowie -A-
Körper- und Lumineszenzfarbe des Kompositmaterials. Die Leuchtstoffe sollten bevorzugt im sichtbaren oder UV-A Spektralbereich anregbar sein, da die Kunststoffe unter Einwirkung von UV-B oder UV-C Strahlung stark altern. Bevorzugt sind Leuchtstoffe, die in einem Spektralbereich > 420 nm anregbar sind, da schon für < 420 nm die Absorption und Schädigung des Kunststoffs zunimmt. Generell gilt, daß der Leuchtstoff mit Cer und/oder Euro¬ pium aktiviert ist, wobei der Leuchtstoff zumindest einen oder mehrere der folgenden Bestandteile enthält: Al, Si, N, O, Erdalkali-Metalle, Seltenerd-Metalle . Verbindungen dieser Klassen haben sich als besonders effektiv und besonders haltbar erwiesen.
Bevorzugt sollte der Leuchtstoff zumindest N und/oder Si enthalten, besonders bevorzugt zusammen mit mindestens einem Bestandteil aus der Gruppe Al, Si bzw. N, 0, insbesondere aus der Gruppe Nitride, Oxinitride, Sione, Nitridosilikate, Silikate, Chlorosilikate und deren Mi¬ schungen .
Geeignete Kandidaten sind insbesondere folgende Leucht¬ stoffe: Anorganische, kristalline Leuchtstoffpigmente, die im sichtbaren oder UV-A Spektralbereich anregbar sind, insbesondere Granate und Nitrid- und Oxynitrid- Leuchtstoffe . Sie zeichnen sich durch eine hervorragende Stabilität aus, im einzelnen gegen
1) Feuchtigkeit, insbesondere auch Luftfeuchtigkeit
2) kurzwellige sichtbare oder UV-Strahlung, insbesondere die der Sonne und die der anregenden Lichtquelle;
3) Temperaturen bis 15O0C und darüber. Dies ist eine bei organischen, lumineszierenden Pigmenten bisher nicht gegebene Eigenschaft, die äußerst vorteilhaft für eine Vielzahl von Anwendungen ist. Insbesondere ist die Konversionseffizienz der Leuchtstoffe sehr hoch und i. allg. relativ unabhängig von der Umgebungstemperatur. Dies stellt sicher, dass der gewünschte Effekt auch bei unterschiedlichen Umgebungstemperaturen erzielt wird. Man kann außerdem verschiedenartige Pigmente mischen, um verschiedene Farben zu erzielen. Ein besonders geeignetes Gebiet ist der Bau von Handys im allgemeinen und speziell die Anwendung für Schalen aus Kunststoff, die wechselbar sind, auch Tastaturen oder andere Teile von Schalen, nicht nur für Handys, können damit hergestellt werden.
Die Korngrößen der kristallinen Körner sollten im Normalfall einen volumengewichteten Mittelwert (Median) d50 von höchstens 20 μm, insbesondere von 0,5 μm bis 20 μm besitzen, da solche Leuchtstoffe die höchsten Quanteneffizienzen besitzen.
Sogenannte anorganische nano-Leuchtstoffe mit Korngrößen d50 von < 100 nm und insbesondere < 50 nm sind ebenfalls besonders interessant, da sie erstens leicht in Kunststoffe einbringbar sind, zweitens wenig streuen und dadurch eine schwächere Körperfarbe haben. Damit sind letztlich auf Basis von nano-Leuchtstoffen nahezu transparente, aber lumineszierende Kunststoffe möglich.
Insbesondere bei Handy-Tasten ist jetzt eine auswechselbare Handy-Schale mit unterschiedlich lumineszierenden Leuchtstoffen realiserbar. Dies ist eine völlig neue Design-Option, die mit konventioneller LED- Hinterleuchtung nicht möglich ist.
Die Anregung des Leuchtstoffs im Kunststoff kann durch blaues oder UV-A Licht erfolgen, das z.B. von LEDs, kompakten Leuchtstofflampen oder anderen Lampen erzeugt wird. Bei Handy-Tastaturen erfolgt die Anregung insbesondere durch blaue LEDs. Bei linearen
Markierungsstreifen oder flächigen Folien ist auch die
Einkopplung des Lichtes von linearen Leuchtstofflampen oder kompakten Leuchtstofflampen gut geeignet.
Als Kunststoff eignen sich insbesondere Silikone, Epoxidharze, PMMA ("Plexiglas") und transparentes PVC.
Kurze Beschreibung der Zeichnungen
Im Folgenden soll die Erfindung anhand mehrerer Ausführungsbeispiele näher erläutert werden. Die Figuren zei- gen:

Figur 2 ein Handy;
Fig. 3 eine Tastatur für ein Handy oder eine Handyschale .
Bevorzugte Ausführungsform der Erfindung
Figur 1 zeigt zwei Handyschalenteile 1 aus Kunststoff. Ein Oberteil in Figur Ia und ein Unterteil in Figur Ib, sind aus mehreren Teilen zusammengesetzt. Einige Bauteile 2 sind aus Kunststoff, der eingefärbt ist und bei Be¬ leuchtung und/oder Hinterleuchtung leuchtet. Als Leucht- stoff eignet sich insbesondere YAG:Ce (gelbe Emissi¬ on/gelbe Körperfarbe) , Sr-Sion SrSi2O2N2:Eu (grüne Emis¬ sion/ grüne Körperfarbe) und (Sr, Ca) 2Si5N8 :Eu (rote Emis¬ sion/rote Körperfarbe) .
Figur 2 zeigt ein Handy 3 in Draufsicht. Sein Gehäuse 4 ist aus Kunststoff, wobei einige Bauteile 5 den Leucht¬ stoff wie in Figur 1 beschrieben in der Kunststoffmatrix dispergiert haben. Die Lichtquelle 6 ist nicht sichtbar als LED-Band (blaue LEDs mit 460 nm Peak als Primäremis- sion) entlang der mit Leuchtstoff behafteten Bauteile im Innern des Gehäuses angeordnet.
Figur 3 zeigt ein Kunststoffbauteil 9, das nur die Tasta¬ tur beispielsweise eines Handys oder PDAs umfasst. Die einzelnen Tasten 10 sind mit verschiedenartigen Leucht- Stoffen behaftet, beispielsweise die Taste 11 mit gelbem YAG:Ce und die Taste 12 mit grünem Sr-Sion und die Taste 13 mit einer Mischung aus beiden.
Die Handyschale kann in einem anderen Ausführungsbeispiel mit YAG:Ce als Leuchtstoff gefüllt eine gelbe Körperfarbe zeigen, solange das Handy ausgeschaltet ist. Wenn die blaue Hintergrundbeleuchtung eingeschaltet ist, kann die Handyschale weiß oder auch eisblau leuchten (wenig YAG im Kunststoff dispergiert) oder ebenfalls gelb leuchten mit unterschiedlichen Sättigungsgraden (eher hohe YAG- Konzentration) . Der rote Leuchtstoff des Nitridosilikats kann im Blauen oder auch im Grünen angeregt werden (insbesondere bis 530 nm Peak) . Diese Kombinationen Rot/Grün kann dann bei eingeschalteter Beleuchtung ebenfalls weiß aussehen, obwohl das Handy im ausgeschalteten Zustand rot oder rot-orange ist.

Claims

Ansprüche
1. Hochbeständiges Kunststoffbauteil, das zur Lumineszenz geeignet ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Lumi¬ neszenz mittels anorganischer Leuchtstoffpartikel er¬ folgt, die Strahlung in einem Bereich gut absorbiert, der zwischen 380 und 620 nm, bevorzugt zwischen 380 und 475 nm, liegt, wobei die Partikel in einer Matrix aus Kunststoff eingebettet sind, wobei der Leuchtstoff mit Cer und/oder Europium aktiviert ist, und wobei der Leuchtstoff zumindest einen oder mehrere der folgenden Bestandteile enthält: Al, Si, N, O, Erdalkali-Metalle, Seltenerd-Metalle .
2. Kunststoffbauteil nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekenn- zeichnet, dass der Leuchtstoff zumindest N und/oder Si enthält, bevorzugt zusammen mit mindestens einem Be- standteil aus der Gruppe Al, Si bzw. N, 0, insbesondere aus der Gruppe Nitride, Oxinitride, Sio- ne, Nitridosilikate, Silikate, Chlorosilikate und de¬ ren Mischungen.
3. Kunststoffbauteil nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekenn- zeichnet, dass das Bauteil eine Handyschale oder ein
Teil davon ist.
4. Kunststoffbauteil nach einem der vorstehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Leuchtstoff¬ partikel eine von weiß verschiedene Körperfarbe auf- weisen.
5. Kunststoffbauteil nach einem der vorstehenden Ansprü¬ che, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Leuchtstoffpar- tikel aus der Gruppe der Granate, Nitride, Oxinitride , Sione, Nitridosilikate, Silikate, Chlorosilikate stammen, insbesondere auch aus Mischungen dieser Verbindungsgruppen .
6. Elektrisches Gerät, mit einer Lichtquelle und einem damit beleuchtbaren Kunststoffbauteil gemäß einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche.
7. Gerät nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Gerät eine Lichtquelle beinhaltet, die ihren Peak im UV-A oder im blauen Spektralbereich, bevorzugt im Bereich 380 bis 475 nm, hat.
8. Gerät nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Gerät ein Handy ist.
