Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'alcools polyvalents à faible teneur en acétal par hydrogénation catalytique de méthynol-alcanals de formule générale (I), dans laquelle R1 et R2 désignent, indépendamment l'un de l'autre, un autre groupe méthylol ou un groupe alkyle présentant 1 à 22 atomes de carbone ou bien un groupe aryle ou aralkyle présentant 6 à 33 atomes de carbone, en phase liquide sur un catalyseur d'hydrogénation. Ce procédé se caractérise en ce qu'un pH du produit d'hydrogénation compris entre 7,0 et 9,0 est obtenu en ajoutant à la charge à hydrogéner au moins une amine tertiaire, une base inorganique ou un acide organique ou inorganique.
