  • Agricultural mach ines of the initially described type normally have a seed con tainer that is carried by the framework of the agricultural machine. From the seed container , seed is metered out to tools arranged at the machine, which first slice or tear a seed furrow in the soil, where the seed is placed at a predetermined depth. In m any cases it is important that this depth be kept as constant as possible during the sowing process.
  • the use of an agricultural machine according to the above can result in the sowing depth not being kept constant and regulation of the sowing depth, so as to keep it constant, can be expensive and complicated.

  • the agricultural machine according to the invention is used for both soil cultivation and sowing in a more reliable way. It is simple in its function especially as regards the transition from working position to transport position and vice versa. I t is advantageous that the load from the seed in the seed container does not act directly on the framework of the machine. A wagon trailed behind the machine confers the advantage that the weight of the seed does not affect the performance of the machine w ith respect to sowing depth. Load directly on the framework gives rise to complicated regulation of the sections of the machine in relation to each other in those cases where an essentially constant sowing depth is desired. In addition, there is no need fo r compensation for change d loading of the centre section with time as the seed is gradually emptied out of the container during s owing.
  • a further advantage of the agricultural machine according to the invention is that the side sections are folded rearwards towards the sowing device in the transport position. This means that the side sections can be made long, i.e. the machine can be given a wide form. During folding of the side sections to a vertical position there are height limitations for driving on public roads. These regulations may be ordained by law, but can also be imposed by low bridges, etc.
